Garbage Day

I know this sounds tacky but another time to check for merchandise is on the town's weekly garbage day. When you're driving through town glance at piles of misc. put out for the garbage collectors. You'll be surprised at what some people toss out. Over the years we're rescued a steel Coca-Cola cooler from the 1950's, a steel Pepsi-Cola cooler from the 1950's. A wooden blanket chest from the late 1800's, a salesman's sample brass bed - early 1900's and a framed poster of Marilyn Monroe signed by the artist. I'm sure there were other things as well.
